Hello, lovelies! This week we're celebrating the one year blog anniversary of Simply J and K and I couldn't be more excited about it. This year has been full of growth, creativity and new friends and i've loved every second of it. I'm beyond excited to continue sharing style, entertaining tips, recipes and more with you all.
I started Simply J and K on a whim, because I felt like I wasn't getting to be as creative as I wanted at work. And, I can't even believe how much my little corner of the web has grown over the past year. It's so exciting to think about how this little blog will continue to grow, and i'm planning some big new things for you all so stay tuned!
To celebrate the one year blog anniversary of Simply J and K, I wanted to answer a few questions about blogging and why I jumped into it!
Blog Anniversary FAQ
What inspired you to start Simply J and K?
Throughout college, I was really into creating anything and everything I could. My friends even often joked that I was a walking pinterest board. Once I graduated, I wasn't able to be as creative as I wanted at work, so I figured I needed a creative outlet. I decided to launch a blog on entertaining, crafting and style on a whim after Jordon and I got engaged and I haven't looked back since.
What do you enjoy about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is all of the incredible people that i've met along with way. The blogger community is full of so many incredible, talented and creative people and i've so enjoyed getting to meet them.
What's the hardest part about blogging?
The most awkward part about blogging can be taking the actual photos. Jordon takes all of my pictures (and makes me laugh continuously as he does it), so it can be tough to not just laugh in all of them. At the start, it was awkward to take photos in front of other people, but now I feel like an old pro!
What kind of camera do you use?
I use a Cannon T5i for all of my photos. I also have a zoom lense as well as my favorite lense the Cannon EF 50mm f1.8 standard lense. I've learned so much about photography over the past year and have to say how much I love it. I can't wait to continue learning next year.
How do you edit your photos?
I taught myself how to use Adobe Lightroom a few years ago and have never looked back. I use the develop module to give my photos a brighter look, but try to keep them as unedited as possible to retain a natural feel.
Thank YOU so much for following allowing throughout the past year. I've loved getting to share with each and every one of you and can't for all that this next year will bring!
XO,
K
