Adding Some Holiday Cheer to Our Bedroom

When I was growing up, my home was always the envied house on the block. Now, I may be biased, but my mom's Christmas decorations were truly magical. There was no room left un-decorated, no corner left un-lit and certainly no nook left without a Santa, Snowman or Elf waving at you. As a kid, it was incredible. It made waiting for Santa to arrive nothing short of amazing. And, now that I'm a little older with my own home, it has become my inspiration for transforming every room in our home into a winter wonderland.

We've only ever lived in an apartment together. So, Christmas was always carried out by putting up one tree, two stockings and a few little lights. But, our bedroom was ALWAYS neglected. It just didn't feel like it was worth the investment. Now that we're in our home, I wanted to go all out, just like my mom...

Today, i've teamed up with my friends at Old Time Pottery to show you how J & I added a little Holiday Cheer to our Bedroom with their help.  Our decor brings the perfect amount of Christmas to our room, without being at all "kitchy" and it has become so magical that we've sipped on hot cocoa in bed and watched Christmas movies in bed every night since we decorated. Every piece of Christmas Decor pictured here is from our local Old Time Pottery and all for under $200! My favorites are the cone trees, the Garlands and the greenery that we placed over our dresser. You can browse their full Christmas selection here!

A few tips...For starters, don't go overboard. I love adding a simple garland because it screams Christmas without being overwhelming. Secondly, opt for a cone tree instead of a full Christmas Tree to save space! Ours light up the room at night, but don't make it impossible to move around the bedroom. Finally, keep to neutral patterns on your duvet to tie it all together! I love the way our bedding and cozy knits added to the decor.

Do you deck the halls in your bedroom for Christmas?

XO,

K
