DIY Dip Dye Summer Napkins
Happy second day of summer, loves! I was home sick for day one, so today i'm calling a repeat. And, there's no better way to celebrate than with a fabulous (and easy) new DIY. You guys, apart from getting a touch of fuchsia dye on my hands (whoops) these napkins were too fun to make. Trust me, you'll be surprised just how easy they are to make.
There's absolutely nothing better than the first few days of summer. From the hot sun to lemonade and barbecues summer is the perfect opportunity to get together with those you love them most. J and I are known for our killer grill outs this time of year, so I always try and step my game up with some fun new table accessories. This year I decided to make them myself to save a few bucks and come up with a fun DIY instead of buying some, and i'm beyond glad I did.
Colorful tabletop accessories have been EVERYWHERE on Pinterest and Instagram. If you've checked out my Instagram, you can tell I have a thing for pink decor (#SorryNotSorry), so I knew I had to make some napkins in just the right shade. But, don't worry if you're not super crafty, these are really simple to make. My only advice would be to buy gloves, do it outside and wear clothes you don't care about. By the way, i'm guilty of not doing any of the above (whoops)!
Now, how to make these bad boys:
Materials:
White napkins (I used linen for summer)
RIT Dye (I used fuchsia)
Old bucket or bowl
Gloves
1. Follow dye directions and place desired amount in an old bucket or glass bowl.
2. Fold the napkins in half lengthwise and put half into the bowl with the dye. Make sure to keep the remaining half out of the dye.
3. Let soak for 10 minutes. The ombre effect will take hold naturally!
4. Pull napkins out and let hang dry overnight. In the morning, wash in the sink and let dry again.
If you end up making these, i'd love to hear what color you used and how they turned out!
