Our Guest Bedroom Update

You've seen our living room, our lounge space and our patio, but today we're heading upstairs to the back corner bedroom otherwise known as our newly updated Guest Bedroom. This room was the room that I was the LEAST excited to decorate. For the most part, it's made up of the master bedroom furniture we moved from Florida, to D.C., back to Florida and then to Indiana again. And, honestly, I was just plain sick of it.

We didn't want to invest too much into this room, as we don't have many people begging to come visit us in Indiana. But, last month we decided to spruce it up a touch with fresh bedding and a few decorative accents. And, I can truly say that doing say breathed so much life into this room. Now, i'm in love with the furniture all over again! There are still a few tweaks we plan to make (i.e. Some more art, some wallpaper and maybe a colorful rug). But, I wanted to share a few updates we made that have made a HUGE difference. The best part, is that this refresh is really affordable. SO, if you're looking to make some inexpensive tweaks to your bedroom, this post will surely be a great resource!

So, what made the biggest difference in our refresh? The bedding. Prior to last month, we had charcoal bedding that we used in our last apartment. It honestly made the room so dark and dreary, so we decided to counteract the dark bed frame with white bedding. I added a ton of texture in the form of new pillows, a quilt and a throw blanket and LOVE the way it turned out. It fits in perfectly with the rest of our home, so much so that i'm thinking of stealing the quilt for our master when I want to shake things up.

Our Bedding:

Other than the bedding, we added in a few new plants, our custom Mapiful print of our wedding location and some natural prints to bring a little bit of life into the space. A few simple additions like photos and a guest sleep mask really gave the room a personal touch that I adore.

Our Accents:

That's it! A simple guest bedroom refresh that helped tie old furniture into our new home. It just goes to show that not everything has to be "new" when designing a space! I'm so excited to add a few more pieces to this space in the coming months, and will keep you all posted as we do!

What's your favorite part of our new guest bedroom? And, have you repurposed old furniture in your house before? I'd love to hear how!

XO,

K
