Summer Bucket List + Why You Shouldn't Skip Out On Anything

The second Memorial Day Weekend passes I get the urge to wear shorts, stock up on fruit flavored popsicles, switch from hot to iced coffee (even though I switched months ago) and start making Summer plans with friends and family. Admittedly, last summer got the best of me and it felt like September rolled around before i'd even had the chance to take a dip in the pool. This year, i'm getting ahead of the game and prepping my Summer Bucket List a little bit early.

I've rounded up all of my favorite Summer Activites below, so that you can take advantage of the warmer weather and enjoy the best of what this season has to offer. Trust me, if you choose even a few of the activities below, you'll be sure to have the best Summer Ever.

Support Your Local Farmer's Market

Living in Florida spoiled Jordon and I when it came to shopping for produce at a Farmer's Market Year Round. Now that we're back home in Indiana, we can only shop local throughout the Spring and Summer, and we take full advantage. Spending a few hours each weekend exploring the booths and perusing has become such a fun day-date for us. They always have the freshest ingredients, that taste INCREDIBLE.

Take a Road Trip Somewhere New

You don't have to go abroad to catch the travel bug in the Summer. Set a weekend aside and take a road trip around your state! My mom and I stopped by a few small towns in Indiana last year, and had the best weekend visiting cities that we had never even heard of. You can read a full recap of last year's road trip here.

Try Out A New Cocktail

A Watermelon Margarita makes for the perfect summer cocktail! Forget your boring glass of rose, and opt for this fruit infused cocktail for a little extra punch this Summer.

Read at least 4 New Books

Pool days = the perfect time to cross off your summer reading list. I've got three books currently on the back burner and rounded up a list of some of my favorites late last year if you're looking for a place to start!

Give a New Hobby a Shot

Get outside and get yourself a hobby this Summer! This year, our big goal has been gardening. So we're hoping to take our love for indoor plants outdoor, with some new life on our balcony!

Detox From Your Technology

A technology detox should be part of your routine every few months. But, there really is no better time to give yourself a break than in the Summer. Turn your phone on silent, throw it to the bottom of your beach bag and soak up the Summer Sun instead. IG can always wait :)

Host a Summer Soiree

More than any other season, I love hosting parties in the Summer. Windows open, pot luck dinners and sunny skies make for the perfect summer evening. Have a little extra fun by sprucing up your Summer Soiree with decorative tablescapes.

Update Your Space

Spring often gets the nod for being the best time to "clean out" your space. But, we tackle the vast majority of our house projects in the summer when life seems to slow down a bit. This year, we're updating our balcony to make the most of our BBQs!

Try out a Summer Pasta Salad

Whether I'm throwing or attending a BBQ, a Pasta Salad is my go-to dish. Try to perfect your recipe this Summer to make a dish that all of your friends and family will adore. I love this vegetable version I whipped up last year!

DIY Your own Linens

I love trying out new DIY projects in the summer and a few years back I put together the cutest dip died napkins that I used for all of your summer get togethers. They were SO easy to make, and a fun project to tackle outside in the Summer sun!

What's on your bucket list this Summer?

XO,

K
