Three Valentine's Day Cocktails Perfect for Every Relationship Status
Believe it or not, some of my most memorable Valentine's Days were spent at home celebrating with my people. At different stages of my life, a Valentine's Day at home has looked very differently. A younger, single me watched corny romantic comedies with my best friends; a slightly older me cooked my very first romantic dinner for a new boyfriend and; now, a married me plans on camping out for a movie night at home with my husband.
This February 14th, before you pick up the phone, worry about fancy reservations or end up in a crowded restaurant, mix it up by planning something special at home. Complete, of course, with a fancy love themed cocktail!
Whether you're single and planning a night with the girls, looking for the romance in a new relationship or flexing your culinary arm for your hubby, I've got the perfect Baileys Valentine's cocktails to accompany your fête. And, thanks to my friends at Drizly, I know that I'll never run out of my main ingredient because I can have Baileys delivered RIGHT to my door. Trust me, you'll fall in love over and over again with their service (here's how their at home delivery works)!
A Baileys Strawberry and Cream Milkshake for the Single Girl
My Baileys Strawberry and Cream Milkshake can best be described as a girly cocktail that will sweeten your Valentine's Day. It's the perfect balance of creamy, sweet and above all, fun. If I'm being completely honest, I'm bummed that I didn't have the Baileys Strawberries and Cream Liqeur during my sorority years. I could see myself making this milkshake over and over again with my sorority sisters in February.
Ingredients
3 oz Baileys Strawberries and Cream
2 Cups of Vanilla Ice Cream
1/2 Cup Milk
Handful of Ice, if needed
Whipped Cream, Optional
Sweethearts, Optional
Heart Marshmallows, Optional
Directions
Combine the first three ingredients and blend until smooth. Add ice, if needed!
Pour into a tall glass and top with Whipped Cream, Sweethearts and Heart Marshmallows, as desired.
A Baileys Original Irish Cream Chocolate Cherry Martini for the New Couple
I'm not exaggerating when I say that this martini tastes just like a chocolate covered cherry. I'm not the world's biggest martini drinker, so I like to balance mine out with a creamier base. And, the Baileys Original Irish Cream worked perfectly! It's smooth, delicious and tastes like Valentine's Day in glass. The cute heart rim, doesn't hurt for a little romance to spice up the mood either!
Ingredients
3 oz Baileys Irish Cream
1 oz cherry vodka
Handful of Ice
High quality chocolate syrup
2 dark cherries
Sprinkles and confectioner's sugar for garnish
Directions
Mix a bit of confectioner's sugar with water. Dip your martini glass rim in the mixture and coat thoroughly. Quickly stick sprinkles around the rim and let sit/dry. Once dry, drizzle chocolate syrup on the inside of the glass.
Combine the Baileys and cherry vodka over ice in a cocktail shaker and shake. Pour the drink in the glass and add two dark chocolate cherries! Enjoy!
A Baileys Original Irish Cream Sundae for the Married Couple
I'm not saying you have to be married to enjoy a sundae on Valentine's Day. But, a certain level of comfort doesn't hurt, because trust me you'll want every last bit of ice cream! I got the inspiration for this recipe after I tried a liqueur over ice cream in Vail, CO, and love how this Valentine's Day adaptation turned out! The Baileys Original Irish Cream perfectly compliments the ice cream. As it melts it mixes together and tastes DELICIOUS. Seriously, it's such a sweet treat for Valentine's Day! And, I think that the Baileys Salted Caramel flavor would be delicious too!
Ingredients
3 oz Baileys Irish Cream
1 oz vanilla (or caramel) ice cream
Chocolate pretzels, Optional
Chocolate syrup, Optional
Caramel Syrup, Optional
Directions
Scoop out one (GIANT) scoop of vanilla ice cream and put it in the center of a wine or fancy champagne glass.
Drizzle Chocolate Syrup and Caramel Syrup over the Ice Cream. Then, pour three ounces of Baileys Irish Cream over your scoop! Top with a pretzel (or peanuts) and enjoy!
psst.... it's even better when it melts!
