A Cheese, Rose and Fruit Platter Fit for Girl’s Night
Admittedly, it’s been a minute since I’ve gone back to my entertaining and “foodie” roots here on Simply J and K. But, with summer and the Bachelorette season in full swing, there’s no better place to pick it up than with Cheese Board as delicious as it is gorgeous.
I’ve always been a not-so-closeted fan of the Bachelor. Is it dramatic? Yes, of course. Is it also insanely addicting? HECK yes. When J and I lived in D.C. I always watched it with one of my good friends from college, and was so bummed to not have a weekly ritual to look forward to when we came back to Indy. But, after moving into our new place I’ve found a group of girls in our new neighborhood who love to indulge in it as much as I do, giving me the perfect excuse for a weekly girl’s night!
It was my turn to host this past week, and I had way too much fun planning the menu and wine. I wanted something classic, filling and also easy to put together on a Monday after work – and thus, this delicious cheese spread was born. I’m a big fan of Charcuterie platters (see here and here), and made this one a little more “girl’s night friendly” by swapping out the meats for Chocolate. I also added a few optional roses to stick with our Bachelorette night theme!
