Scandinavian Living Room Reveal

This is one post that has been HIGHLY requested, and that I’ve been really excited to share with you all: My Scandinavian Living Room Reveal. I’ve been giving you a few sneak peeks on my Instagram and your comments have been so sweet. J and I have been having a blast decorating and we can’t wait to share our home with you all.

First things first, I have to give a huge shout-out to Jessie Corbin-Mahaney from Kittle’s Furniture for her help turning our Scandinavian home into a reality. She held our hands through the design process, and helped us choose pieces that worked perfectly together to create a dream space.

When J and I first lept into designing a minimalist home we were a little nervous. Our apartments have also been full of knick knacks and bright colors, but we spotted a few classic Scandinavian homes on Pinterest and fell in love. The neutral tones and uncluttered spaces are a dream. And, we felt like it would be something we could live in for years to come, instead of the bright colors that we always seemed to get sick of.

ACCESSORIES:

To turn our dream into a realty Jessie played with a lot of wood textures, soft grey hues and simple décor like plants and clean artwork. You’ll find a ton of fake (and real) plants throughout our home ( including this plant from World Market) and fake cactus sculptures (found here and here).

ARTWORK:

Artwork has always been so tough for J and I. We can NEVER agree on same pieces, but somehow both fell in love with the simple, clean pieces we selected for this room. Our main wall is HUGE compared to what we were used to, so we wanted to do a small collage of images and found the perfect three from Home goods and Minted. We opted for scenic images that flowed well together (here and here). Our llama is from HomeGoods, but we also have this one from World Market and love it. Here are a few more of my favorite pieces:

FURNITURE:

All of our living room furniture came from Kittle’s Furniture with the help of Jessie! Most of our pieces are Bernhardt, and if you’re local you can find a ton of our pieces at Kittle’s stores near you. I loved that we were able to customize the fabric for reach piece, and make it perfectly fit our space.

We love the way our living room turned out, and can’t wait to share more of our home with you soon!

XO, K
