Classic Holiday Party Makeup

One of my favorite holiday makeup looks is a very subtle, fresh face with a bold red lip. I absolutely love makeup and adore testing out new products. But, the truth is that no matter what makeup trend I try I always come back to this timeless look. I've been perfecting it since high school, and change it up ever so slightly for the holidays. But, it leaves my face looking clean.

First things first, I HATE wearing too much make up. I always like my makeup to look really natural. In my opinion, makeup should really just enhance your natural beauty, not completely change it. This tutorial is meant to do just that, so I hope you'll stick around and learn how you can recreate this festive look.

Start At The Base:

Foundation: I've experimented with so many different foundations of the years. But, I always come back to NARS All Day Weightless Foundation. My mom turned me on to it when I was little, and it truly is the only foundation that keeps my skin clean and clear.

Contouring: I'm not huge into countouring, but I do add a little this time of year when i'm getting really dressed up. I've been using Beauty Pie, but i've also heard that the Anastasia Contouring pallet is a godsend.

Blush: I always just apply a small amount of blush just above my cheekbones. I typically switch between my tried and true favorites either my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick or NARS in "Orgasm".

Eyes:

Shadow & Liner: I always start my holiday makeup with a coat of cream shadow. Then, I add this gorgeous white/pink shimmer in truffle. I use my dark black shadow as a little bit of liner

Mascara: The Too Faced "Better Than Sex" Mascara is hands down my favorite of all time. It keeps your lashes strong and long and it lasts all day. I apply 2-3 coats on the top lashes and a little amount on the bottom.

The Final Touches:

Lips: My final touch is always adding a bit of lip color. This time of year I gravitate towards reds like the Bobbi Brown Lipstick in "Roseberry". I'll normally top it off with a Lip Plumping glass like the ones in this Buxom Kit
