DIY Cinnamon Scented Candle
I go all out for the holidays. From decorating the house an embarrassing amount, to spending hours baking in the kitchen and making my own hostess gifts I swear I could almost pass as Mrs. Claus. I wanted to get a heads start on prepping my hostess gifts for all of our holiday parties this year, so this weekend I made some DIY Cinnamon Scented Candles, and they turned out so good I knew I had to share with you all!
Let me start by saying making a candle is a lot harder than Pinterest makes it seem, so i'm not going to tell you it's simple. That being said, it's a lot easier if you have all of the right tools. So, if you want to make your own make sure you head to your local craft store and purchase all of the supplies i've listed below.
Who else loves making their own christmas and hostess gifts? My mom always taught me you never go to someone's house empty handed, so every year around this time I start thinking of new DIYs I can make to give to friends. This candle is the perfect hostess gift, because it looks pretty and smells absolutely amazing.
DIY Cinnamon Scented Candle
What you need:
1 lb Soy Candle Wax (makes 3 votives)
Pencil
Votives (I got mine at target)
How To Make a DIY Cinnamon Scented Candle:
Step one: Glue candlewick to the center of your votive and wrap the end around a candle so that it will stay straight when you add the wax.
Step two: Melt the wax on medium heat over your stove. Once melted, add 80 or so drops of cinnamon scent. You can also melt it in the microwave in a pyrex measuring cup if desired.
Step three: Pour wax into each votive and leave to harden. Once hardened, trim the wick and enjoy!
That's it! Now, you have everything you need to make the perfect hostess gift for all of this year's holiday parties.
XO,
K
