Life Update: We Bought a House

Hi friends! I hope you're having an amazing week. The past few months have been such a whirlwind, and I wanted to fill you guys in on what's been going on in my life, give you some insight into our new home and talk about the New Simply J and K. First things first...

What's New With Simply J and K?

A few months ago Simply J and K got a new look! I wasn't planning on redesigning the site for a few more months, but, sometimes things don't go as planned. One day I looked at the site and just didn't feel like it represented the brand I had built well enough.

The new site has more space to feature recent posts, popular posts and does a much better job categorizing content so that you can choose the posts you like to read most. When Simply J and K started, it began purely as a Lifestyle blog featuring recipes, advice and DIY projects. As I've gotten more and more comfortable in front of the camera it's morphed into a Life & Style blog that really reflects my life and my loves.

I've so loved exploring fashion that's both trendy and wearable at the same time, and from the feedback I've gotten you all have too!

We Bought a House

Now for the real point of this post - a house update! J and I have lived in apartments for about 7 years (uggghhhh), and we were SO ready to purchase a home of our own. We both have a really creative eye, so it always bothered us that we couldn't really change any aspects of the apartments we rented. This plan has been in motion for a few years, and it's one of the reasons we left D.C. when we did. We found our home fairly quickly, and fell in love with it's modern vibe.

To say that this new home has taken up a lot of my time would most certainly be an understatement. It's a brand new construction which means we have TONS of options, and it means that it takes a lot of time to get everything picked out. We're also adding some additional features like a custom closet and working with a designer from Kittle's Furniture to pick our all of our furniture (Hi, Jessie)!

I don't want to give too much a way in terms of finishes and furniture, but I will tell you that we're going for a Scandinavian/minimalist look. They're finishing up everything now and we're hoping to be in by early March. I'll keep you posted, and stay tuned for tons of Home Decor Posts!

XOXO, K
