Peppermint Fudge Donuts

I'm SO excited about today's post you guys (like moved it up on my content calendar excited)! This weekend I made the most amazing Peppermint Fudge Donuts and they are already nearly gone (#oops). If you've been following along for a while you know homemade donuts are one of my favorite recipes. I've made Classic Vanilla, Pumpkin, Chocolate and few more. But, you guys, these are a game changer.

Okay, okay before I get too far into this post let me start by telling you why I love homemade donuts so much. For starters, you get to feel like a total baking #boss when you purchase a donut pan  and, you don't feel quite as guilty as when you eat the fried version from your local shop. They're an easy Sunday morning treat that take a total of about 25 minutes to whip up from start to finish. And, you can experiment with soooo many different flavors. Trust me, it's worth the investment in the pan.

The holidays are certainly a time to indulge. And, around our house that's certainly something we take pride in. From cookies to homemade cinnamon rolls and donuts we have quite the sweet tooth this time of year. Sure, we balance it out by kicking out workouts into high gear - but, hey, it's the holidays so I'm just going to keep on telling myself I deserve it. If you are looking for a way to indulge, without feeling too guilty, I STRONGLY encourage you to try these out. It's a classic pairing of holiday flavors that's oh so right in every way.

If you're not a huge fan of peppermint, then i'd suggest swapping the peppermint topping for chocolate chunks and leaving just a hint of peppermint with the oil. It's a great way to get a small hint of the flavor, without it being too overwhelming.
