Sneak Peek at Our New Home
Guys.
You have no idea how excited I am for today’s post. I’ve gotten sooo many DMs asking for home updates, so today I’m filling you in on our new house, the construction process and a few of the pieces we’ve already purchased for the big move!
First things first: We officially have a closing date! It feels like we’ve been waiting for this forever thanks to a few cabinets being backordered. But, we’ll officially be homeowners in mid-April! Our cabinets finally came in last week, and they installed them all this weekend as you can see in the photos. Now, we’re just waiting on the wood floors, countertops and tile. Although, I probably won’t share much of that here until I reveal the full house this Summer.
As you can see from the photos are place has A LOT of light, which is a blogger’s dream. We complimented the light by choosing airy light grey cabinets. We were really torn between that and white, but figured the light grey hue was a bit different than what most homes have. And, it compliments the Scandinavian furniture we picked out perfectly. You’ll see lots of greys, woods, blacks and a few blush pops throughout our entire house when it’s done.
What We’ve Bought So Far
I was trying really hard not to purchase anything before we move in. But, the home décor bug bit me good, and J and I went shopping this weekend. We picked up a few plants (awesome article on some trendy plants here) and a few small pieces that are linked below.
Vases
West elm knocks it out of the park with their decorative pieces. I love these geometric vases and got a few from my brother for my birthday last month!
Wooden Mirror
A lot of the Scandinavian pieces we’re choosing pair perfectly with a wooden tone. So, we picked up a gorgeous mirror to complement a few of our side tables. P.S. we’re also turning our matching media table into a sofa table (it’s such great quality at a great price)!
Mid Century Modern Artwork
J and I have a thing for southwestern art. It’s weird, maybe? But, We both love it. So, our apartment is filled with canyon and cacti art that you’ve probably seen on my Instagram story and here on the blog before. We just picked up a new llama print from Homegoods, and this cactus painting from World Market.
Stay tuned on my Instagram for more home updates!
XO,
K
